Uganda made history after securing a place at the 2024 Men’s World Cup, their first ever appearance at an ICC World Cup competition.
They became the 20th and final team to book a place in next year’s tournament, which will be hosted by the West Indies and the USA in June.

They bowled out Rwanda for just 65 in Windhoek, with Alpesh Ramjani, Dinesh Nakrani, Henry Ssenyondo and Brian Masaba taking two wickets each, and needed just 8.1 overs to complete the chase. Simon Sesazi top scored with 26 not out (21). .
Uganda started their qualifying campaign with a comfortable 8-wicket win against Tanzania on 22 November before suffering a brief setback with a six-wicket defeat against Namibia.
However, this proved to be their only defeat of the tournament, with a tight five-wicket win over Zimbabwe followed by routine victories over Nigeria (nine wickets) and Kenya (33 runs).
The 2024 tournament was expanded from the 16 teams that competed in 2022, with teams divided into four groups of five. The top two teams in each group will advance to the Super 8s (two groups of four) and the top two in both groups will advance to the semi-finals.
