Kanye West Delivers Surprise Performance of his new song on Sunday night in Dubai.
The 46-year-old “I Love It” rapper appeared on stage during Lil Durk’s concert with Ty Dolla $ign at Blu Dubai, where he sang his new song “Vultures”.
The nightclub posted a video of West’s performance on Instagram Stories, in which the musician raps offensive lyrics from the track, such as: “How am I anti-Semitic? I just poisoned a Jewish bitch.’
“Vultures,” West’s first official release since “Hot Shit” featuring Cardi B and Lil Durk last July, first debuted Nov. 17 on Chicago’s WPWX Power 92 and features Lil Durk and Ty Dolla $ign, according to Billboard.
In addition to the anti-Semitic lyrics, West also mentions his former manager Scooter Braun. “I just poisoned Scooter’s bitch,” he raps before recalling the tragedy of the Columbine High School shooting.
Last October, West’s repeated anti-Semitic comments prompted him to lose his billionaire status after losing deals with Adidas, Balenciaga, and Gap.
The Grammy winner, whose net worth was $6.6 billion as of March 2021, is projected by Forbes to be worth $400 million in October 2022, with money coming from his multiple properties, music catalog, cash, and 5% shares in ex-wife Kim Kardashian’s Skims corrective clothing brand.
At the time, he also struck a deal to buy right-wing social media platform Parler after his Instagram and Twitter accounts were banned for making offensive comments about the Jewish community, though numbers were not disclosed and the deal ultimately fell through.
After he shared anti-Semitic comments, Instagram restricted his account and removed content from his page because it violated the social media platform’s rules and guidelines, according to NBC News and CNN, though a Meta spokesperson would not confirm to either outlet which content violates their rules.
After one of his tweets violated the company’s rules, his Twitter account was restricted. The American Jewish Committee (AJC) also criticized the “Bound 2” singer’s words for perpetuating “anti-Semitic tropes like greed and control,” writing in a statement: “Kanye West needs to figure out how to make a point without resorting to anti-Semitism. Last week, the musician incited hatred of Jews”.
During an appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored on October 19, the British host asked him about his “racist” comments that “offended the Jewish people”, but West said he had “no regrets” about what he said.
“So you said that knowing it was racism?” Morgan asked, to which West replied, “Yeah. I fought fire with fire.”
Later in the conversation, West apologized. “I will say I’m sorry for the people I hurt,” he said. “I feel like I’m causing pain and confusion, and I feel bad for the families of people who have nothing to do with the trauma that I went through, and that I’m using my platform where you say, ‘hurt people hurt people.’ “and I was in pain.”
