The mayor of Chisinau, Ion Ceban, won the election of the head of the city, Ceban reported on Facebook (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

“The man [the National Alternative Movement] won in Chisinau. On behalf of myself and the entire team, I sincerely thank all residents. There were manipulations, fraud, and numerous attempts to rig elections in favor of the ruling party,” he wrote.

The National Alternative Movement (MAN), led by Ceban, won the largest number of seats on the municipal council. According to the Central Election Commission, after processing 99.67% of the protocols, Cheban gains 50.58% of the votes, in second place is the representative of the ruling Action and Solidarity party Lilian Karp with 28.27% of the votes, RIA Novosti writes.

Local government elections in Moldova took place on November 5. The turnout in the republic was about 41% (a turnout of 25% is enough to recognize the vote); in Chisinau – more than 40%. The following are elected to the Chisinau Municipal Council: MAN – 34.67% of the votes, “Action and Solidarity” – 31.66%, and Socialist Party – 10.39%. Newsmaker reports this.

The Party of Socialists (PSRM), led by former President of Moldova Igor Dodon, showed the best result among all other political formations in the country, the ruling Action and Solidarity, TASS reported, citing the party’s press service. According to the PSRM, its candidates won the first round of mayoral elections in six cities of the country: Anenii Noi, Briceni, Soroca, Ocnita, Donduseni, and Criuleni.
