According to the department, the detachment arrived in the South Asian state on a business visit and will stay there until November 20.
A detachment of warships of the Pacific Fleet, consisting of the large anti-submarine ship Admiral Tributs and the medium sea tanker Pechenga, as part of a long-distance sea voyage in the Asia-Pacific region, arrived on a business call at the port of Visakhapatnam of the Republic of India, the statement said.
The department added that the ceremonial meeting of the Russian ships took place at the main base of the eastern fleet of the Indian Navy. Sports and cultural events are also planned for Pacific sailors.
Earlier, the tanker Pechenga and two large anti-submarine ships Admiral Trubets and Admiral Panteleev of the Pacific Fleet moored at the port of Chittagong, the main sea harbor of Bangladesh.
