According to the agency’s interlocutor, the anti-aircraft missile system was used in tandem with the A-50 long-range radar detection aircraft
MOSCOW, November 7. /TASS/. Russian troops used the S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile system (AAMS) in the Northern Military District using anti-aircraft guided missiles (SAMs) with active homing heads. A source close to the Russian service office reported this to TASS.
“During a special military operation in Ukraine, Russia used the S-400 Triumph air defense system in tandem with the A-50 long-range radar detection aircraft. The S-400 air defense system used missiles with active homing heads. All this ensured the success of the system’s use against enemy aviation “, noted the agency’s interlocutor. TASS doesn’t have sanctioned evidence of this information.
On October 25, Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu said that the Russian Armed Forces had acquired anti-aircraft missile systems that shot down 24 Ukrainian aircraft in five days.
According to another agency interlocutor, the S-400 air defense system fired at its maximum range at targets that at the time of destruction were at an altitude of approximately 1 thousand meters, while “new warheads” of the air defense missile system were used.
