The 2023 FIFA Club World Cup kicks off today with Saudi Arabia hosting the 20th edition of the tournament in Jeddah. Hosts and reigning Saudi Arabian champions Al Ittihad will face New Zealand’s Auckland City, the reigning OFC Champions League winners, in the first round at Jeddah’s King Abdullah Sports City Stadium at 18:00 GMT.
The annual international club tournament, organized by FIFA, will conclude with the final on December 22. England’s Manchester City (UEFA Champions League winners), Brazil’s Fluminense (Copa Libertadores winners), Japan’s Urawa Reds (AFC Champions League winners), Egypt’s Al Ahly (CAF Champions League winners) and Mexico’s Club Leon (CONCACAF Champions League winners) are the others participants of the 2023 Club World Cup in Jeddah.
