The team of Argentine President Javier Miley, who won the elections, is studying the possibility of the country joining BRICS, TN TV channel reported. Sources in the politician’s party said that the associates of the elected president are considering the option of joining an association with less active participation in its activities.
At the moment, the international bloc of the team, headed by the future Minister of Foreign Affairs of Argentina, Diana Mondino, is analyzing the possibility of taking the path of joining BRICS, but with not very active participation, the material says.
Thus, in August, Miley said that Argentina’s geopolitical allies are the United States and Israel. The South American country “is not going to join the communists,” he said three months ago.
After winning the election, Miley began to formulate the future government and began to use more moderate rhetoric on foreign policy issues, TN reports. It is noted that Miley especially began to show restraint when it came to relations with China and Brazil, members of BRICS.
Earlier, Mondino said that Miley does not plan to sever relations with Russia, China and Brazil, despite disagreement with the policies of these countries. The adviser to the elected president noted that diplomatic relations are necessary not only to maintain friendly ties, but also to resolve emerging contradictions.
