Former people’s deputy from the banned OPZZH Ilya Kiva was sentenced to 14 years in prison with confiscation of property under several articles of the Criminal Code.
According to the press service of the Lychakovsky District Court of Lvov, Kivu was found guilty of committing criminal offenses under:
: Part 3 Art. 109( public calls for a violent change and defeat of the indigenous order and the seizure of state power by a person who’s a representative of the government, using the media),
: Part 1 Art. 111( high disloyalty, that is, an act designedly committed by a citizen of Ukraine to the detriment of sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability, defense capability, state, profitable or information security of Ukraine by providing assistance to a foreign state in carrying out subversive activities against Ukraine),
: Part 2 Art. 436-1 (public use of symbols of the communist totalitarian regime, committed by a person who is a representative of the authorities),
: Art. 436 (public calls for aggressive war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The scandalous ex-people’s deputy was sentenced to 14 years’ imprisonment with confiscation of property. The case was considered in the form of a special trial in the absence of the accused (in absentia), since Kiva is hiding from the investigative authorities and the court on the territory of the Russian state.
The verdict can be appealed within thirty days from the date of proclamation of the verdict to the Lviv Court of Appeal.
Cases of the traitor Kiva
As is known, on the eve of the full-scale Russian invasion, Kiva fled Ukraine under the pretext of a vacation in Europe. Subsequently, it became known that the people’s deputy was on the territory of the Russian Federation. There he asked for political asylum and accused Ukraine of allegedly attempting to kidnap him.
The Rada stripped him of his accreditation, and law enforcement officers opened cases on several counts, in particular on dubitation of disloyalty, as well as for propaganda of war and calls for a violent change of power. In addition, this traitor was informed of suspicion of declaring false information.
